Home made ECG
All the content you see here was taken from the NeozapThis is a repository of information about my attempts to build ECG (also known as EKG) machines from spare parts and retired medical technology. My inspiration used to build ECG # 1 came from Jason's wonderful site:
http://www.eng.utah.edu/~jnguyen/ecg/ecg_index.html
Currently I have built one ECG from scratch, and modified an old ECG to work with modern technology. I've also modified Jason's software to be more usable, including recording and playback function. It's now called FreeECG.

Why build an ECG? There are three reasons.
- It's a major challenge - technologically difficult & a bit of an engineering puzzle.
- It's damn interesting.
- There is huge potential to use outdated 'broken' medical gear to produce diagnostic equipment for the third world. Think about it - it's better than landfill.
